  • Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura <Susan Williams, Vincent Comer, Leonid Keylin, Kathy Stern> - [1.01] Arcanum
  • Famicom 20th Anniversary Arrange Sound Tracks <Yasuhisa "Yack." Watanabe> - [06] Nazo no Murasame Jo
  • Ghost In The Shell : Stand Alone Complex Music Archive Sound Files <Nobuyoshi Sano> - [03] stacompos2.DnB sanodg mix
  • Makaruna Makendo <Takahiro Wakuta> - Level 5 -The Commute-
  • Metal Slug 5 Original Sound Track <Toshikazu Tanaka> - [10] Speeder
  • Mystic Ark Soundtrack - [1.02] - A Composer's Day Off Always Passes Calmly
  • The Journeyman Project - Finale
  • Wolf Fang ~ Tumble Pop <Gamadelic> - [1.01] Rohga

I already have Famicom mostly covered. I will do a little extra research to make sure #gamemp3s is correct about the info here, but they're seldom ever wrong.

I'll try to grab a couple extra to do tomorrow.

I'm not too familiar with any of these soundtracks, so I'll wait until tomorrow and pick up the leftovers.

I'll take Makaruna Makendo (figuring out which transliteration to use should be fun) and The Journeyman Project (played TJP3... good game).

EDIT:

EDIT2: I assume that, since the Japanese version of Makeruna! Makendou came out first, you'd like that name and not that of the English translation, Kendo Rage. Both came out in '93.

I'll chip in with info on my own nomination:
  • Artist: Gamadelic
  • Composer: Hiroaki "Maro" Yoshida
  • Album/Game Title: Wolf Fang ~ Tumble Pop
  • Track Title: Rohga
  • Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
  • Track Number: 1
  • Catalog Number: PCCB-00084
  • Year: 1992
  • Additional Information:
    • This is an arrangement from the arcade shooter/platformer Wolf Fang which is related to Skull Fang. The original is track #4 from the same album. This arrangement also appears as track #8 from Gamadelic's "Delicious Selection" compilation album.
    • The title of this album has been listed as "Wolf Fang/Tumble Pop" as well as "Wolf Fang & Tumble Pop". Since I'm unsure what the separator should be, I stuck with using a "~" to be Windows filename safe.
    • The original composer is the same guy who composed the Skull Fang tracks. The arrangement, however, is by Data East's Sound Team named Gamadelic.

I'll also pull down the Arcanum and Ghost in the Shell stuffz.

EDIT:
  • Artist(s): Leonid Keylin, Kathy Stern, Vincent Comer, Susan Williams
  • Composer(s): Ben Houge
  • Album/Game Title: Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura Soundtrack
  • Track Title: Arcanum
  • Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
  • Track Number: 1
  • Catalog Number: none
  • Year: 2001
  • Additional Information: That Sierra site is freakin' awesome, by the way. Not only does it break down the members of the string quartet that performed the track (and the composer), but it ALSO has sheet music so that the string quartet you're a part of can perform it too.
  • Source(s): http://arcanum.sierra.com/us/media/...soundtrack.html, http://www.mobygames.com/game/windo...obscura/credits
  • Artist(s): Nobuyoshi Sano
  • Album/Game Title: Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex ~Music Archive Sound Files~
  • Track Title: stacomps2.DnB sanodg mix
  • Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
  • Track Number: 3
  • Catalog Number: CFCL-1
  • Year: 2004
  • Additional Information: CC listed four composers for this CD, but as "Nobuyoshi Sano, Junichi Fujisaku (4), CMJK (1), Yoshiki Sugioka (2)." I think the parentheses means that they only did those specific tracks (none of which is the nominated track).

CHz, if you put the URLs for the sources on new lines without commas, it will automatically parse them as links.

Metal Slug 5 and Mystic Ark are the only ones left. I'll have to wait to knock those out tomorrow, unfortunately. I don't have enough time to research and fully prepare tracks for voting right now.

Actually, it doesn't parse them as links because I edit the post instead of making an additional one and am too lazy to bother encapsulating the URLs in [url] tags. I can do it in the future if you want.

And, since I'm such a nice guy, I've linked everything up in my previous two comments free of charge.

But I'm not nice enough to snag those last two tracks. Sleep beckons. They're both at Chudah (I checked), so it shouldn't be THAT hard. I hope...

I'm past due on this research. Time to get cracking.

Additional Comment:
  • Artist(s): Yasuhisa "Yack." Watanabe
  • Composer(s): Koji Kondo
  • Album/Game Title: Famicom 20th Anniversary Arrange Sound Tracks
  • Track Title: Nazo no Murasame Shiro
  • Track Number: 06 (1 disc)
  • Catalog Number: SCDC-00320
  • Year: 2004
  • Additional Information: The track title, 謎の村雨城, is named after the game from which the music originated. However, this needs to be written in the Latin alphabet, and in addition to the different romanized Japanese spellings I've seen ("Nazo no Murasame Shiro", "Nazo no Murasame Jo", and "Nazo no Murasamejo"), there are also multiple English translations (which are generally variations of "The Riddle of Murasame Castle"). I decided to aim for a romanized Japanese title, as it is well suited to the style of the game and the music. I used Jim Breen's WWWJDIC to translate the Japanese and came back with hiragana that I romanized as "Nazo no Murasame Shiro". Furthermore, "Nazo no Murasame Shiro" resulted in more Google results than any other Romaji or English variation I entered, so it wins.

Additional Comment:
  • Artist(s): Akihiko Mori
  • Album/Game Title: Mystic Ark Soundtrack
  • Track Title: A Composer's Day Off Always Passes Calmly
  • Disc Number: 1
  • Track Number: 02
  • Catalog Number: KTCR-1326~7
  • Year: 1995
  • Additional Information: "Mystic Ark Soundtrack" is spelled in Katakana at the top of the album cover; I checked.

Onward, the track title has a couple different translations, including "A Composer's Day Off Always Passes Calmly" and "Composers are Always Too Quiet on their Days Off". Any translation efforts on my part would likely be unsatisfactory in determining a proper title, and Google shows very little support for either title. Furthermore, between Chudah and GMR, it's not outright obvious which tracklist has the better translation. I'm going to have to choose something, so I'm keeping the title lolman nominated it with; I feel it sounds better.

One more thing, the track that was nominated is Disc 1, Track 02, which is the arrange version. Disc 1, Track 21 has the same title, but is the original sound version instead.
