Going with what we've discussed in #sotw, we'll start research on Mondays from now on (*looks at date* :S). Due to the restriction taking place at the same time on Saturday this list will change over the week, but only, and if you have researched a song on the list and the song is removed it's likely that the information will still be required next week (ie. less work to do).

I figure we could try and do this as efficiently as possible, so with that in mind all entries that will qualify for the restriction without any new nominators will be bolded and are therefore priorities. There's only one unbolded this week due to Skexis being the only person still having a space to nominate. We'll see how this works for now, so obviously things will change as we try and perfect the art of researching.
  • Alloyrun <Jeoren Tel> - [01] Alloyrun Theme
  • Golden Axe <David Whittaker> - [04] Path of the Fiend
  • Guardian Heroes OST <Nazo^2 Suzuki> - [06] Shuffler in the Dark
  • Jet Moto 2 OST <Sandra E. Geary> - [02] Alpine Races (Jet Moto 1)
  • Seal of Evil <Brahma Studios> - Dream
  • Sparkster <Kazuhiko Uehara, Masahiro Ikariko, M. Matsuhira, Y. Yamane, Akira Yamaoka> - [06] Bird
  • Technosoft Game Music Collection Volume 12 ~ Discovery <Yasuhito Watanabe> [07] What a Good Atmosphere ~ Main Theme Bossa Nova Version (Unused)
  • The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil <ZUN> – [09] – The Locked Girl ~The Girl’s Secret Room~

And Kaleb, I'm not sure if you need the research information from last week for backup purposes or anything, but I've got it saved just in case.

  • Track Number: 6
  • Catalog Number: TYCY-5466
  • Year: 1996
  • Additional Information: Nothing out there but the GMR listings. Only the first two tracks on the album are arranged apparantly so I didn't bother putting them in the details. First Google match for "Guardian Heroes Shuffler in the Dark" came up with www.mrmonkeyman.com. Go figure.

Delayed until next week:
  • Artist(s): Kohei Tanaka
  • Composer(s): n/a
  • Album/Game Title: Sakura Wars 3 Vocal Collection ~ Paris Complete Song Works
  • Track Title: The Future (Voyage)
  • Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
  • Track Number: 12
  • Catalog Number: AVCA-14155
  • Year: 2001
  • Additional Information: Chudah's saves the day, because GMR has next to nothing on this game other than its name.

The other three seem rather obscure, so I'll get more work done on them tomorrow.

Man, this week's nominations look like fun! I'll do Alloyrun and that Seal of Evil "relatively unknown Chinese action rpg" dealie.

EDIT:

That sucked.
  • Artist(s): Brahma Studios
  • Album/Game Title: Seal of Evil (Game Rip)
  • Track Title: Dream
  • Disc Number: none
  • Track Number: none
  • Catalog Number: none
  • Year: 2004
  • Additional Information: There is NO information about this game's music whatsoever, which I'd assume makes it perfect for SotW. The demo is a whopping 330 MB, but the bigger issue is the whole Mac thing, so even if one COULD access the credits, I couldn't. Tzar Sectus has the manual, so the artist and track name come from his post.

I updated some info.

I found the corresponding Jet Moto track from the Jet Moto Red Book Audio. The track name is "Ice Crusher" and the track number (with "base 2" counting) is 8. It's the same composer. This FAQ was a big help here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/jet_moto.txt

The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is a Game Rip; I labeled it as such. I think THIS (top album) may be the OST, but I can't be sure.

The Technosoft track has been obtained and tagged. Also, upon finding the cover art, the album title has been changed slightly.

The Sparkster track has been labeled according to the Genesis version.

Hey, this is good, we don't have six game rips this time. Well, so far, anyway. >_> Zillion is obviously mine, and I'll do Ristar as well since I'm in a classic-Sega mood.

EDIT:

Additional Comment:
Well, we're having a lazy research week, aren't we? Koopa Loud and Ten-Bu coming up eventually.

EDIT:
  • Artist(s): Kenji Yamamoto, Mitsuhiro Hikino, Toru Minegishi, Koji Kondo, Kenta Nagata
  • Composer(s): Koji Kondo
  • Album/Game Title: Nintendo Sound Selection: Vol. 2 "Koopa" ~ Loud Music
  • Track Title: Shin Onigashima ~ Oni's Time
  • Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
  • Track Number: 23
  • Catalog Number: CN-P018
  • Year: 2004
  • Additional Information: Some name funkiness with the album and track titles because the album cover doesn't seem to make up its mind. The title on the front cover has a different order than the title on the spine, and as such TMK and GMR use different titles than #gamemp3s does. The official Nintendo page for the CD has text at the top that seems to be the album name, so hopefully my Japanese-studying friend will be around tonight or tomorrow for the assist.
The logo says "Nintendo Sound Selection: Vol. 2 'Koopa.'" There's no mention of "Loud Music" in that GIF, but it's on the cover, so I stuck it in at the end.

As for the track title, TMK and #gamemp3s call it "Oni's Time," but GMR says it's "Demon's Room." Oni are Japanese demons, so that's just a case of one title being translated more than the other, but I have no idea how you could get both "time" and "room" unless the Japanese word used in the title can mean both.
Apparently this one is ambiguous. My friend doesn't know, but he said he'd go with "time." It sounds cooler, too. Same reason I'm going with "Oni" over "Demon." Japan +1. UPDATE: Also, I completely forgot that he said the game name was in the track title too, so I just added that above.

Additional Comment:
Research plz. Koudelka and UJL are cake, and I'll try to do Gauntlet Legends too.
